Work has started on the first phase of pond clearance. The branches have been cut away and the roots are being pulled out of the mire. Open water is beginning to appear in these areas and they are receiving light and air at last. As well as removing the willows invading plants such as Lonicera and Spirea are being taken out to allow native species to regenerate.
